December NOAH Spotlights

Shining a bright light on some individual and team stars of NOAH. All of these individuals and groups were highlighted by their colleagues for the month of December.

Annette Betancur, Director of Specialty Operations, Dreamy Draw

Annette has endlessly helped the Behavioral Health department navigate growing pains and implement patient-focused solutions. It is always apparent that patient care is at the center of her advocacy. She has been able to lead efforts to grow our behavioral health program and is a great asset to the Behavioral Health management team. We appreciate her hard work, dedication, and humor!

Jessica Catalan Silvar, Medical Records Processor, Dreamy Draw

Jessica is an amazing team player. She is willing to assist others within the department as well as other departments and providers. If she is unable to assist, she will direct people to the correct department. She is quiet but her actions behind the scenes show how hardworking, helpful, and empathetic she is with everyone she encounters.

Zach Clay, Behavioral Health Counselor, Desert Mission Health Center

Zach is one of the highest performers on the Behavioral Health team. He consistently exceeds his encounter goals and expectations, while always providing quality care to his patients. He also shares a great relationship with his team with a positive attitude and great sense of humor. Zach is an irreplaceable asset to the team.

Shantell Cortez, Registration/Scheduler, Palomino Health Center

Shantell is an amazing communicator, with patients and with other departments. She always makes sure to communicate specific details about patients, helping NOAH provide the best care. She is very caring towards patients and that interaction makes a big difference.

Erica Rios, Medical Assistant, Copperwood Health Center

Erica is an asset to our Copperwood team. Our littlest patients and families are always greeted with a warm smile and treated with the utmost care by Erica. Her skills as a Pediatric Medical Assistant are exemplary and she’s always willing to help train new team members. She goes the extra mile to make sure she takes care of our patients and the provider she works with! Thank you, Erica, for all that you do!

Sara Toenies, Behavioral Health Counselor, Midtown Health Center

Sara is one of the top performers on the Behavioral Health team. She is hard working, dedicated to her patients, and a joy for all her colleagues and other departments to work with. She has a positive attitude and is a team player. We’re grateful to have her on our team.

Heather Vega, Medical Records Processor, Dreamy Draw

Heather has been a part of NOAH Medical Records for more than 4 years, and while continuing her education. She is always willing to offer her team tips and help with what she knows and understands so well about the team. She volunteers to help with projects and is willing to take on an assignment when colleagues are out of the office. Heather will be greatly missed, when she leaves on her externship for school at the end of year. Good luck Heather!

Dr. Ralph (Sam) Whallon II, Physician, Desert Mission Health Center

Dr. Whallon is a compassionate and positive provider to his patients and colleagues. He takes extra time to teach newer graduates, rewards staff members with weekly donuts, and goes above and beyond to be a good human to all.

Julie Wunderlich, Behavioral Health Patient Navigator, Dreamy Draw

Julie always comes to work with a positive attitude and embodies the NOAH One Team and Embracing Innovation values. She jumps in to assist team members whenever needed and provides valuable insights to process improvements. She has been invaluable to launching the Behavioral Health Patient Navigator role and a welcome addition to the team.

Behavioral Health Case Management

The Case Management team continues to show up each day with a warm smile and listening ear to welcome new patients taking the brave and often vulnerable step of seeking behavioral health services. The whole team is also incredibly dedicated and flexible, and I really appreciate how much you all roll with changes and full calendars to serve our patients with timely and excellent care.

Palomino Health Center Team Spotlight

  • Dr. Deborah Bauer & Dr. Amit Jain, Pediatrics

Dr. Bauer and Dr. Jain are the best, most concerned and involved pediatricians I have met in all the years I have been in the medical field.  I am so comfortable with either one of them providing care and medical advice to my own grandchildren (who I love more than I can express in words or actions).

  • Dr. Jennifer Vanyo-Novak, Dr. Jennifer Gonzalez, Dr. Hadass Fuerst, Dr.  Birdie Matern, DNP Samantha Currier, PA-C Dana Cohen

During my time with NOAH I have assisted and watched the magnitude of these providers and their patient care.  They are totally awesome!  They never treat anyone as “just a patient”, but they treat everyone as an individual.  They listen to patient needs and work to figure out what is best for the patient’s care.

  • Zaira Morales, Practice Manager

Zaira is the one who brings motivation and structure to the team at Palomino.  She is respectful to all of us from what I’ve seen.  Her tenacity and vast knowledge of Community Health shows and is instrumental in bringing multiple successes to the NOAH team.
