What is Marketplace Open Enrollment?

Who Qualifies for Marketplace?

At NOAH, we’re fortunate to have health insurance coverage as part of our employee benefits plan.

Marketplace is intended for people who don’t have health insurance through a job, Medicare, AHCCCS (Medicaid), KidsCare, or another source that provides qualifying health coverage.

Many of our patients use Marketplace to enroll in health insurance plans offered by private insurance companies with a range of prices and features.

How Can Someone Apply for Marketplace?

Open enrollment for Marketplace plans runs from Nov. 1 to Jan. 15. NOAH Community Resources eligibility team members are well-versed in Marketplace and can help patients and community members with the enrollment process. If you have a patient who may qualify for Marketplace coverage, please refer them to Community Resources for an interview and prescreening. Appointments (including weekends) can also be made by calling Community Resources directly and walk-ins are accepted at most health centers depending on team member availability.

How Much Does it Cost?

During the application process, information is collected regarding expected household income for the year. Based on income and household size, applicants may qualify for a premium tax credit that lowers the monthly insurance bill on the front end; meaning savings are applied now versus paying up front and having to wait for reimbursement until taxes are filed for the year. In addition to savings on the insurance premiums, applicants may qualify for extra savings on out-of-pocket costs like deductibles and copayments.
