Workplace & Public Safety will be holding an active shooter drill at the Desert Mission Health Center on February 15, 2023, from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
The drill will consist of a simulation of an active shooter situation on campus. Plastic rubber dummy guns will be used in the drill. No live gun shots will be integrated into this scenario.
Participates are prohibited from bringing any weapons, simulated or real, to campus. No physical contact between the employee and the subject will be permitted. Any “fight” based actions will be verbal demonstration of the tactics only.
We understand that our employees have different life experiences. Employees who prefer to be exempt from attending the drill should talk with their leaders. For employees attending the drill, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) resources will be available as part of the debriefing process.
