In preparation for our upcoming Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) deeming application due in June, our NOAH credentialing specialists are working hard processing recredentialing applications and updating privileging forms that have been sent to our clinical staff. If you have ever wondered what exactly credentialing and privileging are, read on!
The initial credentialing and privileging of our certified/licensed/credentialed staff occurs as part of the onboarding process for newly hired employees, and every 2 years thereafter per HRSA requirements. Credentialing involves verifying the qualifications and professional background of our clinical staff, including their education, training, licensure, and work history. Privileging is the process of granting our clinical staff permission to perform specific services and procedures at NOAH based on their credentials and demonstrated competencies.
This process is crucial to ensuring that clinical staff, such as providers, nurses, and medical/dental assistants, are qualified and competent to deliver safe and effective patient care. Credentialing and privileging helps maintain high standards of care, protects patient safety, and ensures compliance with HRSA regulations and our PCMH accreditation requirements.
