We’re excited to announce the launch of paperless billing! In the next few weeks, we will begin enrolling NOAH patients and guarantors with a MyChart account and a valid email address into a new paperless billing option. As they are phased into this option, they will no longer receive paper billing statements in the mail.
- Why are we implementing paperless billing?
Paperless billing is convenient, cost efficient, and environmentally friendly. This effort will reduce costs related to postage, printing, returned mail, and labor resulting in a savings of more than $1 per statement. With an average distribution of 6,000 statements per month, we anticipate savings that will make an impact both on our bottom line and our carbon footprint. In addition to improving our outbound billing process, we also anticipate an increase in electronic payments, more timely payments, and fewer carryover balances.
- How will patients be notified?
Eligible patients will receive a notice in their next paper billing informing them of their automatic enrollment in paperless billing.
- Can patients opt out of paperless billing?
Instructions for patients to opt-out of paperless billing and continue receiving paper statements will be included in the notification and available on MyChart. Patients may update their billing preferences via MyChart at any time.
- Will new patients signing up for MyChart be automatically enrolled in paperless billing?
Yes! All new MyChart users will be automatically enrolled in paperless billing and may update their billing preferences at any time.
- What tools will be available for NOAH team members to help patients with this transition?
Watch The Beat for more details on patient communication and MyChart tutorials for editing billing preferences.
