We’ve recently experienced an increase in employees testing positive for COVID which has prompted a review of our internal procedure and subsequent update to our existing quarantine guidelines.
If you test positive for COVID:
- Contact your supervisor with the day symptoms started.
- Stay at home for a minimum of five days and isolate from others in your home.
On Day 5
If your symptoms are improving or you had no symptoms:
- You may end isolation after day five if you are fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and your symptoms are improving.
- If your symptoms are not improving, continue to isolate until:
- You are fever-free for 24-hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and your symptoms are improving.
- If you require more than five days out, you will need a return to work note from your PCP to be given to your supervisor upon return.
- If testing is not performed or if there is a positive test at day five, then you may return to work after 10 days and at least 24-hours have passed since last fever without the use of fever reducing medication, and symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath) have improved.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have a family member who tested positive but I have tested negative. Can I come to work?
If you have no symptoms, test prior to coming to work. If you continue to test negative and are symptom free, you can come to work. Notify your supervisor of possible exposure.
What if I have no symptoms during days one through five? Can I still come to work if I wear a mask?
No, you are required to isolate at home for minimum of five days after a positive COVID test, unless a contingency plan is implemented.
Am I able to work from home?
Yes, if remote work is part of your regular work schedule and is approved by your manager and HR. You must be able to complete your job duties at home along with keeping the same productivity (encounters if applicable). If you do not meet the criteria, PST/PTO must be used.
Can I use PTO/PST during days one through five or longer depending on my symptoms?
You must use your PST/PTO. If PTO/PST is exhausted, you are able to go into unpaid status for COVID only. If longer than five days, you will need a return-to-work note from your PCP.
Does NOAH have any extra COVID tests?
Yes, at home testing kits are available at any clinic or Dreamy Draw.
