We are excited to announce the upcoming addition of pediatric play therapy rooms at Cholla and Copperwood II Health Centers. Funded through a generous grant from The Ibis Foundation of Arizona, these spaces will provide a safe and interactive environment tailored to the developmental needs of pediatric patients with social, emotional, behavioral, and learning issues stemming from health disorders, life stressors, or other factors.

With a variety of sensory stimuli such as tactile materials, soothing sounds, and vibrant colors, these rooms help children regulate their emotions and reduce anxiety while encouraging creativity and self-expression. Through guided interactions with toys, games, and art materials, patients develop coping strategies, build confidence, and strengthen interpersonal skills.
Through extensive research and cross-functional collaboration, every aspect of each room has been thoughtfully planned with consideration for ambiance, layout, flow, and inventory. Spaces will include items for make-believe play including dollhouses and a puppet theater, painting supplies and an art gallery, sensory boards and other materials like kinetic sand, a quiet space for reading, integration of NOAH’s desert animals, and more.
Buildout of the spaces is already underway with soft opening planned for early March.
