Improving the Patient Experience

Compassion and Kindness are an integral part of the patient experience.

Patients who are cared for with compassion and kindness feel more able to trust their providers. A trusting relationship is crucial for the best outcomes. It empowers patients to share sensitive details about their symptoms and challenges. 

The art of kindness means harboring a spirit of helpfulness, as well as being generous and considerate, and doing so without expecting anything in return. The act of kindness often is simple, free, positive, and healthy. Kindness has been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy, compassion, and improve mood.
