Medicaid Advocacy Continues

Valley non-profit leaders, representatives from legislative offices, and Medicaid patients gathered at Cholla Health Center on May 13 to discuss proposed cuts to Medicaid. Approximately 30 people attended the round table event coordinated by Unidos US including FQHCs, Arizona Alliance for Community Health Centers, Chicanos Por La Causa, Children’s Action Alliance, and Healthcare Rising Arizona. Participants shared personal stories along with details about what the future may hold if pending cuts to Medicaid are passed by the federal government. All in attendance are hopeful this round table event sparks media coverage, future group discussions, and a united effort to impact budget decisions.

Additional Advocacy Efforts

A dedicated email featuring videos from Wendy Armendariz and other NOAH employees explaining the importance of Medicaid is planned to go out to our database of 55,000 patients and community members in the coming weeks. Similar versions of the videos will be shared on social media channels and sent directly to our legislators. Postcards are still available at all locations and updated signage is being distributed.

How Can You Help?

Continue to contact our legislators by mail, email, and phone calls and encourage patients to do the same. Use these talking points to start the conversation.

If you have any questions or suggestions to help our advocacy efforts, please reach out to your leader or email chenning@noahhelps.org.
