Each February marks the beginning of American Heart Month, a time designated to advocate for cardiovascular health and raise awareness about heart disease. Believe it or not, heart disease can happen at any age. However, some risk factors for heart disease and stroke are preventable. American Heart Month teaches us how we can help reduce our risks while eliminating those we have control over.
As of today, the Check. Change. Control. Program has begun, and it’s not too late to sign up! Now is the perfect time to take charge of your heart health and encourage healthy habits. The first Well-Being Webinar of February begins today at noon, make sure to register below for education on the basics of blood pressure! Also, don’t forget to stop by the Zen Room at Dreamy Draw to measure your blood pressure and pick up your own blood pressure log.
Falling on the first Friday in February, National Wear Red Day is the icon day of American Heart Month. The day serves to raise awareness of the number one killer amongst women – cardiovascular disease. As a reminder, all NOAH employees are encouraged to wear red this Friday, February 3 to show support. Make sure to snap a fun group photo (or selfie!) rocking your red and email/text to Tiffany Jewell at tjewell@honorhealth.com by 5pm Friday.
