New Year, New PTO Procedures

As we step into the new year, there are updates to our PTO procedures—though our PTO policy remains unchanged. Here’s what you need to know:

Key Changes:

  1. Position Eligibility Updates
    • PTO has increased for select positions.
  2. Standardized Maximum Accrual
    • PTO accrual is now capped at 240 hours for all employees.
    • All PTO hours roll over year to year, but once your balance reaches 240 hours, accrual stops until you use some time to help maintain work-life balance and simplify tracking.
  3. New Payout Rule
    • A maximum of 80 hours of PTO will be paid out upon termination or transfer to PRN.
    • Any hours above 80 accrued as of 1/1/25 will still be honored.
    • Example 1: Joe has 120 hours on 1/1. By 4/4, he accrues 53 hours and uses 20. Joe is eligible for a 100-hour payout.
    • Example 2: Joan has 120 hours on 1/1. By 4/4, she accrues 53 hours and uses 80. Joan is eligible for an 80-hour payout.
  4. Notice Period Restrictions
    • Additional PTO cannot be taken during the notice period beyond what has already been approved. This ensures adequate time for training and handoffs.
