Nearly half of our patients could lose medical coverage as early as April 1.
What is Happening?
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government required state Medicaid programs like AHCCCS and KidsCare to automatically renew, even if a patient’s eligibility changed. Beginning in April, eligibility will no longer automatically renew as it used to. If we don’t take action, they will potentially lose coverage. This will significantly affect NOAH’s revenue.
Who Does This Affect?
About 20,000 or 42% of NOAH’s patients could be impacted if they are no longer eligible (due to income or other requirements) or have not responded to AHCCCS requests for information.
What Do I Need to Do?
Determine if patient is on AHCCCS, usually indicated by having one of the following health plans:
- Arizona Complete Health – Complete Care Plan (formerly Health Net Access)
- Banner-University Family Care
- Molina Healthcare
- Mercy Care
- Health Choice Arizona
- UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
Give this flyer to ALL patients on AHCCCS
Determine If a patient’s eligibility has changed:
- Check AHCCCS Online
- Run Real-time eligibility query in EPIC
- If denied or eligibility could not be verified:
- Route patient to Community Resources by sending an in-basket staff message to NOAH Community Resource Pool; using: “AHCCCS Unwinding Consult”.
