HIV Testing is Important

Friday, June 27 is National HIV Testing Day. First observed in 1995, this day aims to raise awareness about the importance of HIV testing, encourage individuals to get tested, and promote early diagnosis and treatment of HIV.

HIV awareness and prevention continues to be an important part of NOAH’s mission with more than 16,000 tests administered over the last five years. Please join our Population Health team in continuing to prioritize this initiative by asking every eligible patient to get screened. It’s fast and easy to administer a point of care test (results in about 20 minutes) or add the test to other lab work.

Get the conversation started with this suggested scripting:

“I see that you’ve never been tested for HIV.  The CDC recommends everyone get tested at least once in their lifetime.  Can we test you today?”
