NOAH is at “Contingency Work Restrictions” with COVID. What Does That Mean?

NOAH is currently following CDC guidelines at the “Contingency” level. This means if a staff member tests positive for COVID-19, they will quarantine for 5 days, regardless of being asymptomatic/symptomatic or of testing negative within those 5 days.

Staff members must quarantine for 5 days if they test positive based on when symptoms started.

The CDC guidelines have several levels for healthcare organizations as staffing shortages change. These are meant to provide the care desperately needed by patients, while having the safest workplace possible for employees during staffing shortages.

More information about the CDC Healthcare Workplace Guidance here.

NOAH Employees Who Test Positive:

  1. Notify supervisor immediately
  2. Plan to quarantine for the CDC-recommended 5 days
  3. Supervisor will alert NOAH Quality Team who will contact you to begin COVID Tracker/Tracer protocols.
  4. Be prepared to answer:
    • Date of positive COVID test
    • Date symptoms began
    • If you work in health center, remotely, or another location
    • If you received the COVID-19 vaccine, booster
    • If you wore proper PPE while in a NOAH facility
    • If there is a chance other staff or patients were exposed
  5. The Quality Team will contact quarantined staff members daily to track symptoms and plan their return-to-work.
  6. After the 5-day quarantine, employees can return to work if:
    • No fever for 24 hours
    • No symptoms or improvement of symptoms
    • Note – a negative test is NOT required to return to work

Through this latest COVID surge, we value your every precaution, early notification of illness, adherence to guidelines, and ongoing support to fellow staff members and patients. It has not been easy. Our hope is that by following these recommendations and everyone doing their part outside of NOAH, we can avoid moving into the “Crisis” level.

If you have questions, contact your supervisor. For questions specifically about the process above, please contact the NOAH Quality Team: Chris Sweeney 480-993-9898 and Eva Cole  623-633-4156.
