In 2022, NOAH launched the Community Health Immersion Program (CHIP) to support recent graduates from advanced practitioner programs (nurse practitioners or physician assistants) as they transition into community health careers. This program offers direct supervision and clinical support to enhance provider confidence, improve clinical outcomes, and increase efficiency in community health center settings.
The most recent cohort, who graduated in August, marks another milestone in the success of this program.
Bobbi Mills, FNP-C at Copperwood Health Center, shared her experience in the program:
“All of our preceptors have been fantastic in helping us with whatever needs that we have. I think that this is a beneficial thing that we’ve been doing, and I’m glad that I got into it.”
Nicole James, who helped to oversee the program, had nothing but wonderful things to say about this cohort:
“They all came in so eager to learn and ready to make a difference for our patient population and the community. They all came with very different backgrounds in medicine, and it was so cool to watch them all grow and be able to be awesome and confident providers in community health.”
