NOAH team members showed up in a big way at the Phoenix Pride Festival October 21 and 22! NOAH’s participation in this event, spearheaded by our Partners in Prevention team, is a wonderful opportunity to raise positive awareness of the Phoenix Metropolitan LGBTQ+ community.
A huge, heartfelt thank you goes out to all employees, family members, and friends who dedicated part (or all) of their weekend to support NOAH’s mission and further our HIV Awareness and Prevention efforts.
Quick Facts
- The Pride Festival featured over 300 exhibitors including NOAH.
- Sunday’s parade saw an attendance of more than 10,000 people as it hosted 250 entrants and some 2,500 participants.
While waiting for the parade to kick off, the group in front of us was a church group and I was speaking to one of their Parade walkers. The gentleman – Eric, saw our Test PrEP Live banner and the HIV/AIDS logo and shared with me, and then our group, was that he was diagnosed with HIV 40 years ago (long term survivor) and had lost several close friends as well as his long-term partner. Eric stated he felt so guilty for that. He started the HIV cocktail of several pills and is down to one pill a day. He thanked NOAH for what we are doing for HIV prevention and “taking care of the community”.
