As part of our employee prescription benefits plan, Prior Authorization or Step Therapy may be required for prescription medications. At the beginning of the plan year, there is a 90-day grace period for these requirements that ended March 31.
Here’s what you need to do:
Check your medications to see if they require a Prior Authorization (PA) or Step Therapy (ST)
- Log into the Navitus website at https://members.navitus.com and type in the name of your medication. If you haven’t already, you may need to register – be sure to have your NOAH medical ID card ready, or
- Contact Navitus Customer Care 24 hours a day at 1-844-268-9789 and ask if your medications have any requirements you need to meet before your next refill
If your medications require PA or ST, contact Navitus Customer for help starting the Prior Authorization or Step Therapy process
Your doctor will be required to provide documentation as to why these are the best medications for the member instead of the lower cost generic equivalent or alternative
- Follow up with your doctor each week to confirm that they have provided the required documentation
- Confirm with Navitus that they received the required documentation before picking up your next fill
- If there is a delay in the approval which is causing a delay in your refill, please notify Navitus so they can review your options with you while you wait for approval
