Our second all-team meeting of 2023 featured a morning of recognizing our valued NOAH team members, learning about the future direction of NOAH, and riding the wave lead by our trusted and dynamic emcee, Eric Scherf.
We hope you enjoyed this event as much as we did. We’re looking forward to reconnecting in 2024 to discuss the next chapter!
Your Questions Answered
Thank you to those employees who submitted questions during and after the meeting. Here are some of the questions we think everyone will benefit from knowing the answer to:
Would NOAH be open to introducing an insurance verifier role?
This is not something we are considering at this time. Handling insurance verification for appointments remains within the purview of our front office. Revenue Cycle, PEC, and Operations teams are actively working together to support our front office team in ensuring precise information entry.
What were the results of the market analysis that was done a year ago? Also, does NOAH have plans on giving a cost of living raise?
The market analysis completed in December of 2022 confirmed compensation for most positions is inline with current market. Some roles were in need of adjustment and those affected received communication of the adjustments.
Are there any plans in the future for incorporating vision care?
Not at this time.
Could you please explain how we forecast cash on hand to increase by December 2023 but the operating margin will decrease by December 23?
Yes. NOAH has a large receivable on our Balance Sheet from AHCCCS that should be paid by December 2023.
Why is the Midtown location still in an outdated clinic that’s in a building shared with other businesses when other clinics are getting new buildings? There’s barely enough parking for patients.
We agree. We have been actively searching for a property to relocate Midtown; however, we have not located the right spot yet.
In regards to JEDI, are we planning on making the federal holiday Juneteenth a day off in our organization to recognize this important day?
Our HR team is reviewing additional holidays for 2024. More details will be provided by the end of this year.
What was the cost of the retreat that Wendy mentioned? Could those discussions have taken place at NOAH during regular business hours?
As a non-profit health center, we try to keep costs down as a good financial steward of our resources. Board and leadership retreats are hosted during work hours.
Is there a possibility of introducing individualized productivity pay raises or bonuses within this organization, especially in situations where additional healthcare providers are brought in without a corresponding increase in support staff?
There is a clinician incentive plan available to help support greater access to care. At this time we will not meet the threshold exceeding 3% operating margin to release an Incentive or Holiday Bonus for all staff. Our Operations team is constantly reviewing staffing ratios to ensure we have the staffing needed to support providers and patient care.
I hope that leadership team is well aware that there is someone or group out there sending multiple phishing attempts to multiple employees in the name of our CEO, Wendy. Perhaps we could have some internal communications to address this before someone or some system might get compromised?
Yes, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our IT team is aware and has continued to monitor these phishing scams.
