Monthly Policy Highlight: Attendance and Tardiness

NOAH’s Attendance and Tardiness policy outlines expectations for regular attendance and punctuality, essential job functions and conditions of employment for all staff. This policy includes definitions, scenarios, and the disciplinary process for attendance-related concerns, such as:

  • Absence: Not reporting to work for one or more scheduled shifts, including denied PTO or additional pickup shifts.
  • Tardy: Arriving late to your workstation or returning late from breaks.
  • Call-In Notification: Required daily notification to leadership if you are unable to work or will be late.
  • No Call/No Show: Failing to notify leadership about an absence or tardiness.
  • Job Abandonment: Leaving work early without approval or missing three consecutive shifts without notice.

Consistent with most NOAH policies, the Attendance and Tardiness policy has a correlating procedure that covers:

  • Reporting absences or tardiness.
  • Guidelines for excused absences, including pre-approved PTO, FMLA, bereavement, and other protected events.
  • Disciplinary actions for unexcused absences or excessive missed punches.

The full Attendance and Tardiness policy and correlating procedure can be found under the Human Resources section of NOAH’s Policy and Procedures library.
