Community Care Day Draws Huge Crowds

NOAH’s Community Care Day delivered on our promise to provide valuable resources to patients in need. More than 800 people attended the event held July 27 at Cholla Health Center. Participants were lined up outside the doors beginning at 7am. Mary and her family of seven were first in line having driven all the way from Surprise. All too familiar with this type of event, the family came prepared with folding chairs and breakfast knowing items tend to run out fast.

Presented by Molina Healthcare and Jaburg Wilk Law Firm, Community Care Day featured free resources including diapers, school supplies, and shoes (all procured by Jaburg Wilk) as well as food boxes, resource kits, and haircuts. When the supply of food from St. Mary’s Food Bank began to run low, Molina stepped up to the plate and sourced an additional 105 dozen eggs and 72 gallons of milk. Seeing the immediate need for more shoes, Molina also funded an additional 200 pairs of shoes on the spot. A total of 58 haircuts were provided by community partner ClipDart with five stylists working tireless throughout the four-hour event.

While our community partners were essential to this event, we absolutely would not have been able to do it without the support of the entire NOAH team. From moving furniture and setting up tables to taking shoe orders and sweeping the floor – every single person who helped with this event was critical to its success.
