As a result of continued growth in our psychiatry and counseling service lines, NOAH will be concluding its partnership with Ascend for psychiatric services by July 31, and for counseling services by November 1. Partnering with Ascend over the past five years has been essential for NOAH to keep up with the demand for psychiatry and counseling services in our community. Continued need has justified growing our capacity to provide these services entirely in-house.
Why is this change being made?
This is an important milestone for NOAH that further strengthens our mission to provide:
- Improved Access: In-house providers increase the availability of both in-person and virtual appointments.
- Integrated Care: Full alignment with NOAH’s wrap-around care model enables better coordination and outcomes.
- Financial Impact: This change will result in over $1 million in cost savings in 2025 alone, which helps support NOAH’s overall sustainability and service expansion.
When will patients be notified?
Over the next five months, we will be working diligently to ensure there are no interruptions in care for our patients. Every patient receiving care from an Ascend psychiatry or counseling provider through NOAH will receive a written notice of the transition via MyChart and/or postal service. Distribution of letters and transitioning of impacted patients has already started as we receive details on departing Ascend providers.
What options will patients have for continued care?
Patients will be encouraged to transfer to a NOAH provider who will be fully brought up to speed on their care plan and ready to continue treatment. Patients who would like to explore other options for continuing care will be directed to reach out to their insurance plan for additional covered resources.
How can NOAH staff support this transition?
We anticipate news of the transition may be shared with patients prior to letters being sent out. NOAH team members are encouraged to reassure patients that NOAH’s expanded behavioral health team is ready to continue their care and will make every effort to make the transition as seamless as possible. We recognize the bond between patients and their care providers and will provide additional support in navigating next steps for those who need it.
