Change in SFS Patient Identification

Why the Change?

The SFS dummy coverage will no longer be used to identify patients on SFS as this caused duplicate work for our billing team.

What’s Next?

Effective February 1st, 2023, SFS will begin to be indicated as an FYI under patient’s chart.

We will no longer be using the SFS dummy coverage to identify individuals enrolled in SFS.

  • You may still see some charts with SFS dummy coverage as we will not be “terming” any SFS dummy coverage previously entered but instead discontinuing the use of this to identify Slide Fee Scale patients.
  •  FYI’s will not be added to previously approved individuals on SFS.
  • The 4 tiers of our SFS program will continue to be indicated in the FYI.

Registration/Guarantor Account

Additional information about the patient’s SFS status is available in the Finance section of the P/F, Dental, and BH Guarantor accounts under Registration.

Information in this section includes:

  • Status: SFS program enrollment eligibility approval or denial
  • Effective and expiration date of program
  • FPL %: To match the FPL% to Fee Chart and determine the SFS charge for the visit based on appointment type and date of appointment.

If you have any questions on how to identify SFS please contact our Community Resource Management team at: NOAHCRManagement@honorhealth.com.
